11:30 - Our first stop is the characterful Hildenbrand Wine & Olive Estate where owner, Reni Hildenbrand, will teach us how to taste extra virgin olive oil. Reni is an author and pioneer in the olive industry and has twice been awarded the Achiever of the Year for her contributions to the olive industry. Most importantly, Reni is a delightful, entertaining host and we will taste her wine over a light lunch in her tasting room.
14:00 - Depart for Riebeek Kasteel and check into our B&B
16:00 - Visit the Olive Boutique where owners, Derek and Susan, will show us how liquid gold is extracted and follow up with a refreshing tasting of a sensational variety of olives.
Relax or take a stroll in the village before dinner in town.
DAY 2 – Overnight Riebeek Kasteel
09:30 - After breakfast, we visit Het Vlock Casteel, a farm with a difference! Part function venue, part picnic venue, all anchored by a fascinating shop with the most delicious fresh fruit and preserves…. You have to see it to believe it.
11:00 - Take a drive to Pulpit Rock Estate and a stroll up Kasteelberg (2km) to see the magnificent view, or relax in the tasting room. We’ll refresh ourselves with a wine tasting and picnic lunch.
14:00 - Time for a siesta or a stroll around to explore the quaint shops and galleries of Riebeek Kasteel.
16:00 - Wine tasting at Kloovenberg Wine Estate, one of the most beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads in the region and home to Springbok rugby star Pieter-Steph du Toit (rugby fans will enjoy the photos!).
17:30 - Time for some local culture and talent. Get into the weekend mood with some unusual music and a bit of Soap Box Theatre.

DAY 3 – Overnight Tulbagh
09:30
After a leisurely breakfast we depart for Tulbagh where we’ll soak up the beauty of the countryside and take a walk through the historical Church Street area with a specialist guide (R100 pp). We’ll need some refreshments after all the walking and talking so a wine tasting and visit to the magnificent art gallery at Saronsberg Winery is our next stop followed by lunch in the foothills of the great Winterhoek Mountains.
16:00 - We’ll end the day with a spectacular tractor trip up the historical Oudekloof Pass through fynbos and proteas to the top of the mountain. At the top of the mountain we’ll enjoy snacks and sundowners whilst taking in the fabulous views and sunset over the Tulbagh Valley (R250 pp).

DAY 4 – Home
09:00 After breakfast we make our way to Waverley Hills, on the foothills of the soaring Witzenberg mountains. The environment around the cellar and restaurant, beautiful fynbos alive with birds, attests to a philosophy that cares for nature. We’ll take a deep breath and enjoy morning tea and a wine tasting.
11:30 - We’ll take the road less traveled on the way home, over spectacular mountain passes but first a stop at Bosjes Farm Kitchen for lunch. Be prepared for something quite special!
